I don't know about you, but I have a serious weakness for brick buildings. You might even call it a fatal flaw. And when I went to Alexandria (which is just a little ways outside of D.C.), I nearly died. It's gorgeous. Not only does it have brick, it has clapboard, wooden window shutters, lamposts, lanterns, and a cobblestone street. It's heavenly.

An amazingly beautiful building... A church, maybe?
| Not only is it brick... It has teal, wooden shutters! I could have fainted in delight right then. |
Okay, look, look! The darling teal door, with the lit, real-flame lanterns that frame the doorway? . . . Completely irresistible.

If you're not drooling by now, there is something seriously wrong with you ;) |
Someone lives in this amazing place. Hard to fathom. It's too pretty to live in... Though I think I would be willing to give it a shot haha.
And then... The visitor at Alexandria approaches Christ's Church, where Washington himself attended. Not only is it amazingly beautiful, it's historical! I doubt it could get better than that.
And note the brick courtyard flooring. Yum.
Final glimpses at the town....
And on to the rest of D.C.
Coming soon!
